Renaissance Festival

Is it possible for this weekend to get any better? Well, yes. We found a festival that was fun for the whole family. You might call us strange, but this was actually one of the highlight of our summer. We went to the Midsummer Renaissance Faire in Bonney Lake. There were lots of people in costume; faeries, barbarians, knights, satyrs, pirates, and much, much more (faire employees as well as visitors). Entertainment also included full contact jousting, acrobats to entertain the Queen (and the crowds), sword fighting, magic shows, musicians and more. Plus there were people selling and making things on site. We liked the home-brewed cream sodas and root beer served in reusable blue glass bottles! The boys got wooden swords with leather holders. And Glenn found an iron pad lock that is very cool.
It was a fun day to spend as a family doing something that's just a little outside of the ordinary.

PS. At this festival Drew picked up a new word that he now uses (often) around the house. The word is "never!" But when you shout it out you need to pronounce it as neva. Although this is much more endearing and a nice reminder of our wonderful weekend, it all comes down to a four year old finding another way to say "no" to your requests :)
