We took a long weekend to go on a little road trip before school started again. The first day of our trip we drove through Rockport, stopping and letting the kids play along the banks of the river. Then we drove out across Diablo Dam. We go out and walked on it to admire the sights. It was equally scary and beautiful. Well, maybe only scary for me. While I'm not personally afraid of heights, I am afraid of having two little boys who climb up, on, or over everything with NO sense of fear on a very high dam (with a name like the devil). Not only this but for some reason the boys think it's fun to push my limits and pretend to climb, shake fences or lean too far over any protective barrier. Don't they get that those were put there specifically for my sanity...
This is the river in Rockport where we stretched our legs and skipped rocks.
That evening we arrived in Winthrop. We stayed in a little tiny cabin that was smaller than our bedroom at home, but it was fun. We had a picnic dinner at a park with a playground and a river. Then we went back to the cabin and Glenn set up our "travel theater" so that the kids could watch a movie in the room.
The next day we shopped around town and then went to a near by lake where we rented a row boat and spent some time exploring.
We were suppose to spend one more night in Winthrop but the kids were just too excited about seeing Grandma and Grandpa the next day, so we decided to head over to Leavenworth to maximize our time with them.
While we were getting ready to go I asked Drew to go potty. This is where I found him a few minutes later. Does this count as doing what your mom asked?
