Day four of our trip started with breakfast at a local diner. It was very interesting and fun to see where the locals dined. Then we walked through town and inspected all the Twilight tourist spots.

Prior to Twilight, logging was the main industry in Forks.

It was fun to see how they have embraced the theme and changed their town to
accommodate all the Twilight die
hards.

Look, here I am with the cast.

We drove out to La Push to spend the rest of the day on the beaches. This is First Beach. It was covered with TONS of driftwood. The kids loved climbing and playing on it. And Ian had fun skipping rocks into the ocean. All the rocks are perfect flat smooth stones, so yes, you can skip them into the ocean, even if you are new to the skill.

This is Second Beach. We had to hike into it, but it was well worth it. The tide was low, and the weather was perfect. There were lots of tide pools and the kids had fun exploring the sea life.

More Driftwood. Did you know that driftwood, worn smooth from tumbling in the ocean, makes great swords. Ian discovered that when you
cut your
sword through wet sand it heals quickly; just like Wolverine. This fact could have kept the kids entertained for hours...maybe even days.
But alas, we had to leave before it got dark so we could find our way back through the forest.
