Lost tooth

Ian lost his first tooth while we were on vacation. Here is the story: My brothers Paul, Andrew and Daniel came over to watch my boys while I went out to sushi with the girls (my mom, Shannon, Cathy, Amanda, and Michelle) Ian's bottom right tooth had been loose for two days. While we were at dinner we started receiving pictures on our phones of Ian with BIG pliers in his mouth. Ha Ha very funny guys. Then someone got a text that said "it's out." Yeah, right. I don't believe that for a second. After all his tooth has only been loose for TWO days. Ian then calls me on the phone and tells me he pulled out his own tooth. I act excited and play along. While I'm talking to Ian I can't believe how well his uncles "prepped" him to talk to me. He knew all the detail, especially for someone who has never lost a tooth. He never missed a beat. So I start to doubt myself...maybe he really did loose his tooth. What are my brother's doing to him??? No, it can't be out...But when I get home I am greeted with a huge smile that is lacking a tooth. Yes, it is out. Then I am handed an envelope with a tiny little tooth all wrapped up in a tissue paper.
Ian had the best time and it will be a wonderful memory for him losing his tooth on a very fun night with his uncles.
Drew also had fun, in fact, when I got home Drew ran up to me and said, "Mom, are you home?" When I replied "Yes, did you miss me?" He shouted "No, go back out! I want to play more with them." (his uncles).
Well, I hope my brothers had as much fun with my boys as they did with them. I certainly had fun with the girls and wish I could do it more often. Thanks guys, and girls, for a memorable night!

PS. Ian had been looking forward to drinking with a straw poked through his teeth when he lost a tooth. It's the first thing he wanted to do and he's still enjoying this novelty.

PSS. Ian decided he wanted to save his tooth and put it under his pillow at home for two reasons. First, he wanted to show his dad the tooth. And second, my brothers told him that the tooth fairy only left them 25-50 cents per tooth. Since Ian had talked with friend from home who got a lot more than that he didn't want to risk getting less by turning in his tooth in the wrong place.
At home he ended up getting a two dollar bill. Wow!
