Locked Out!

I finally got to my limit. My limit on how many times I can and/or will pick up the entire contents of my kitchen cabinets and drawers in a day. Everything from whisks, spoons, measuring cups, pots, pans, dishtowels, and bowls, to small appliances like the blender and toaster would end up on the floor (the kitchen floor if I was lucky, the rest of the house if I wasn't so lucky). I mean really, it got to the point that Drew never wanted to play with his toys... only mine! It was taking up a huge chunk of my day to clean up after him. Not to mention how often I would have to re-clean things before I could use them.

We had originally decided not to baby-proof the house because it seemed like so much work when the kids really just learn how to bypass the locks within a short time anyway, but since I got to the end...of my limit, Glenn went out and bought some locks and installed them for me. If Drew figures them out too quickly we'll just put several of them in each drawer, at intervals that require two adult hands to open. I don't even mind when Glenn laughs at me when I yank on a drawer forgetting it's new hardware and realize that it's a good thing to be locked out, because I'm not the only one who is!

This week sure has been nice with my kitchen locked up nice and tight! Well, for me anyway. Drew is a little confused at what he can do when I am cooking or not otherwise entertaining him. Sorry Drew, you had your fun.
