MO part 1

We headed off to Missouri to visit (Great) Grandma Clara. We flew on Alaskan Airlines. The crew was so friendly. They let the kids go up in the cockpit to meet the Captain and check out the "buttons."

Then we rented a car and drove to the Drury Inn in Arnold. We got there just in time to eat a "free" buffet dinner (the first of our buffets for this trip). The kids loved being able to choose their own food from a whole line up of mostly kid friendly food. And since there was also free wine, with extra tall pours, the adults were happy too.
Next we headed to the in-door/out-door pool, which we had all to ourselves. I can't understand why no one else chose to swim at 8:00 PM on a nice snowy winter night, but it was their loss, and our gain. The kids had fun ducking under the divider that separated inside from out to see how long they could stay on the outside...the temperature was a balmy 20 degrees with snowflakes falling! We went back to the room,  with popcorn from the lobby, to shower and play on our tablets.

The next morning we had buffet number two. The kids started to fall in love with this kind of dining. Then it was off in the car for a two hour drive to Piedmont to see Grandma. We visited with Grandma for several hours. She showed us around here place. Took us to lunch at the Zephyr with her friend Norman. We had the buffet, of course. Then later that evening we headed out, with grandma's famous caramel corn in hand, stopped at the dollar store in town to get toys for the kids, then headed to the hotel. All only a hop skip and jump from each other in the little town of Piedmont, MO.
