August Review

I can't believe that September is already here! School has started again, and now that I have a minute to sit at my computer I realize we had a very busy August. We did tons of fun stuff and took lots of pictures, but it left me with no time to blog. So, here is a look at a few of the fun things we've done over the past month...

We took several trips to the zoo. The kids and I rode the carousel which we had not done before. And during one of our trips to the zoo the bears swam right down to the glass and we got to stand literally 2 inches away from the brown bears, separated only by a piece of very strong glass. Ian pressed himself right against one side while the bear pressed back on the other. The bears looked at the kids, swam around and tried to catch fish for at least 15 minutes. It was very exciting to see them so active AND UP CLOSE!

Most evenings we played in the water, spraying each other with the hose to stay cool, or splashing in Drew's little water table. We also sat on the porch having cool drinks and chased the bubbles in the shade of the house. We also had a few BBQs with all the neighbors out in the cul de sac. We have a great neighborhood with lots of fun kids AND adults.

We went to the state fair with Grandma and Grandpa. The kids enjoyed petting the sheep and goats and looking at the cows, pigs, dogs and other farm animals. Ian got to ride the carnival rides while Drew chowed down on fair food. Each of them enjoying their activities equally!

These cute pictures of Drew were taken at the Children's Museum. Drew is finally old enough to enjoy the activities there, instead of just being carried around while watching Ian play. Drew sat and enjoyed digging for dinosaur bones and playing in the water feature. The splash apron looks like a full length dress on him!
Ian never slowed down enough for me to get a shot of him that wasn't blurry. No worries, there will be plenty more trips to the museum!

Ian started Karate this month. He really likes it and is VERY good at it. Maybe all that practice playing with a light saber and wrestling with his dad gave him a head start!

So, as you can see we've had a busy month! I'll add another web album for the month of August (in case that wasn't enough pictures for you) sometime in the next few days. Just click on the album's cover picture on the left column and it takes you right to all the pictures.

my, my, you have been busy. I LOVE the picture with the bubbles. It turned out so cool. I guess it is time to update my blog now... maybe over the weekend.
