Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's St. Patrick's Day, so of course we're celebrating! We love any opportunity to get out of the daily routine. This morning we got dressed in our green clothes, well everyone except me since I don't have any green, but I am wearing my Guinness t-shirt which should count for something. Then we made green pancakes and washed them down with green milk. Ian went to preschool to find little green leprechaun foot prints all over everything and all the green toys strewn across the floor. How exciting!

I love green! While it's not my favorite color, it holds a special place in my heart because there are some many things I love that ARE green. Here are a few of those things...

It's Ian's favorite color by far...and has been for years. Almost every art project he ever does is simply green. When given the choice he always picks green _______ .(toys, clothes, markers, paper, etc.) He has even stopped me in the mall (on two separate occasions) in front of the Victoria Secret window when the mannequins were wearing green lingerie, to say, "Wow, Mom look. They're wearing my favorite color. I just love that." As if they were wearing it just for him :) Since he is only three, we'll just say that is the only reason for this comment. So, because Ian loves the color green so much, I just have to love it too.

I love that the Northwest stays green all year long. I love green food. Limes, spinach, avocados, herbs, peas, broccoli and so much more. I love my Mom's green carpet. I love that green means spring is here and green means be environmentally conscious. Soft green grass to play on. Yoda, Oscar the Grouch and Kermit. And Edwards human eye color. (Sorry, had to get one Twilight reference in.) Oh, and I should probably include money too. You know, Greenbacks. They're usually good for something.

But now I'm loosing my sentimentality and this post is getting too long. I hope you enjoyed my tribute to Green, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your St. Patrick's Day!!!
