Bedtime!

My Favorite Time of Day!

I love bedtime. Especially when it goes smoothly. And not just because I'm looking forward to a couple of (hopefully) uninterrupted hours of "my time." ALL of you with kids will know what I'm talking about. The nights when the kids take a bath without drenching the walls in, around, and above the bathtub. The nights that they are happy to brush their teeth and get rid of all the "bugs." The nights that they race to show you how fast they can put on their PJs (which Ian calls 'jammas'). The nights you have time to read extra books. The nights they want extra hugs and kisses.
Well, this was one of those nights. Usually Glenn entertains Drew while I finish up the bedtime routine with Ian. But sometimes Glenn has soccer or has to work during the bedtime hour, as on this night. So to my surprise they both behaved and played happily 0n the bed before we read books. Both Ian and Drew bounce around the bed and act like they're having a party, squealing with delight. I can't help but run to get my camera when they are having so much fun! I've taken some of my favorite pictures from nights like this. With the boys playing on Ian's bed in their PJs. Just looking at the picture makes me smile to remember their cute laughter and remember the scent of their just bathed bodies. If only every night could be this much fun!

Hey Lori, my cookin' neighbor! So glad to have you in my 'inbox' so often!
Love the story of the boys' bedtimes. I think of you and Tricia often at night when I'm sitting on the couch with my pet (aka 'computer'!) and my wine. . . I've paid my dues, though, so on wtih the pet and computer! :)
