When the snow started falling it was getting dark, but there was no way that was going to stop Ian. Around here snow doesn't usually last very long, so you may as well enjoy it while you can. Ian went out and played in (and ate) the snow on the deck. Drew eventually joined him, and they had a great time playing in the dark, in the snow.
