Grandma and Grandpa called yesterday to see if we wanted to go to the beach for the day. Well, of course that sounds fun to a bunch of kids on summer break and their mom, so off we went the next day. Grandpa Mike and Grandma Paula picked us up and drove us to Fort Worden. It's a two hour drive that includes a ferry ride so we had lots of time for about a million games of 20 Questions. The kids never tire of this game. Ian even tried to make us guess naked mole rat which we didn't guess. We had to set some new boundaries to keep the game fun for all :)
The beach was beautiful and we basically had it to ourselves. The kids had fun digging in the sand and playing in the waves. We even went through the old museum that is there and got to see a lot of old military weapons and artifacts.
On the way home we stopped for really yummy ice cream. The kids liked theirs so much they even talked Grandma and Grandpa into buying them a second round.And since my kids know that the person with the most power is highest ranking mom, which in this case is Grandma, they knew exactly who to ask.
It was a fun day!
