Ice Cream

This morning before Drew had breakfast he stood up and said, "I want ike keem," (which is his word for ice cream).
I of course said, "No. Your breakfast is right here. Come over and eat it."
Drew then says in an excited voice, "Does it have ike keem in it?"
"No," I respond
"But I want ike keem!"
"Eat your breakfast, Drew."
"And then I can have ike keem?"

After a few moments of staring at his oatmeal he ate it and drank most of his smoothie.

After dinner tonight Drew announced that it was time for "dirts" (his word for dessert).
"Okay. Since you ate your dinner you can now have your ice cream."
Drew got up from the table and yelled a drawn out "YAY!" in his loudest voice.

I gave the kids a choice between Breyer's vanilla and Baskin Robbins daiquiri ice.
They both chose vanilla tonight. But, I had the daiquiri ice.
Drew and Ian both ate their ice cream quickly without making a noise, except for a few little clinks that came from the spoon as it hit the sides of the bowls. When Drew had finished and I was only half way done, Drew pushed his empty bowl over to me and said "Let's trade."
"What?" I say, "Yours is gone. There is nothing to trade."
"But I want daiquiri ice now. Let's trade."
"No," I say, guarding my cup.
"But Mom, there's a little left," he says as he scoops a tiny drop that will barely even cling to his soon and picks it up to show me.
I quickly scooped up my last spoonful of daiquiri ice and put it in my mouth. Then I said, "You can have daiquiri ice tomorrow."

I wonder if he'll ask for it for breakfast.

I'm sure he will ... and with a face like his, how the heck can you resist him?
(I guess you resist him the same way I did mine! Right?!)

yum... daiquiri ice. That's my favorite too. They only have it here in Utah during the summer months. LAME!
