Christmas
This Year we decided to spread out the excitement of Christmas. For the kids the excitement of Christmas is opening presents. Ian said it was the most important part about Christmas, which provided a little prospective for Mom and a little learning opportunity for Ian. We let them start opening presents on the 23rd. They opened a few from friends, one from mom and dad and their gift to each other. Ian came up with a gift for Drew that he knew Drew had been wanting for several months. It was so cute to hear him say that he wanted to buy the "bird" for Drew that Drew had been saving his money for for a few months. Drew loved it of course. Drew gave Ian a Spy Watch that he loves.
On the 24th the kids opened their gifts from their Grandparents. They had fun opening and playing with their new toys and games. They also helped Glenn build their new table and chair set. They boys love to build things with their Dad and we didn't want them to miss out on the fun by having a toy already put together on Christmas morning :)
On Christmas morning the kids opened all their gifts from Santa and we exchanged the rest of the family gifts.
It's so much fun to experience Christmas through the eyes of your children. It was fun to spread out the excitement and watch them enjoy themselves.
Well, maybe Christmas is about gifts. In many more ways than one.

I love this approach to gifts. I have wanted to do it this way for years, unfortunately, Steve feels strongly about waiting until the big day. Oh well. Just seems like it would be more enjoyable to spread out the toys!
Loved your Christmas card. I always look forward to seeing what you create each year.
