After dinner was over I asked why Cannon hadn't come down stairs. Glenn went to look for him upstairs and couldn't find him. After searching all the usual places I took a drive around the neighborhood only to find Cannon's picture posted on all the community mailboxes. I called the number and was told they had just dropped him off at PAWS. Unfortunately it was too late to go pick him up. They close at 7:00 PM, and it was now 6:45 PM.
We had to wait until the next day to go pick up our very tired, sad doggy.
PAWS was less than friendly about our dog not wearing his tags. They also didn't believe that he was really my dog because they thought he was a different breed than what was on our Vet's paperwork that I had taken for ID. Not only that, but we originally got him from PAWS and paid for an identification chip that they could not find. They gave him a whole round of shots that he had just received three weeks ago from our Vet. All in all it was not a fun experience. And we had to pay four times more to get him out of "doggy jail" than we would have had to pay to adopt a new dog!
