Ian has been telling us for the past few weeks that he would be willing to take off his training wheels when and only when he turns four. Not a day before his birthday. I guess he thought three was just too young for such a feat. So, the weekend after his birthday was nice and sunny and a good chance to try out the new skills that come with turning four.
He got out his own tools and took off his own training wheels. Then he got ready to go for a ride!
Dad held the bike for him the first time to help him get started. He took off on his own and was amazed at how easy it was. He yelled out "This is awesome!" the whole time he rode around the cul de sac and then came to an easy stop in our driveway. He's a natural! Look out X games!
These pictures are actually from the third time around. I recorded the first time, although I didn't get the take off. I thought it would take him a little longer to get started and I wasn't quite prepared with the camera. Mom should have known better.
