Whoa, what happened? The rest of February just sort of slipped away from me. I may have started a few too many projects this month in between sick kids and not doing anything exceptionally exciting to write about, so my blogging has been neglected...But I have one hour left to get you caught up on the rest of the month, before it isn't this month any more. So here it goes.

We've been spending a lot of time out side when the weather has been nice. We usually get one or two good days per week right now. We try to go to the park or ride bikes outside. This is the little park near our house. We often stop here when we're out on a walk.

We've also been exploring the wildlife in our neighborhood. For a little over a week there were two bald eagles camping out in the green space behind our house. It was so much fun to see and hear them every day as they sat in the trees or circled over head.

This is one of Ian's favorite parks. He loved to go and climb on this rope tower.

Drew can't quite climb so he sticks with the ride-on toys, swings, and merry-go-round. They recently removed the sand pit from this park which was Drew's favorite part. But he still has fun.

It's been several months since we've been to feed the ducks some of the cracked corn that I carry in the car for just that purpose. The ducks were very hungry. They probably don't get fed by people as much during the winter when people don't go to the park as often. So as you can tell from the expression on Drew's face, the ducks were getting a little too close for his comfort. It was funny to watch Drew drop a handful of corn on the ground about a foot away from him and then try to find a place to back away from the ducks, as they quickly came forward to eat the dropped food, without bumping into more ducks.

Mr Blue Beard.
Drew thought it was fun to draw on himself while doing a little art project with markers. I thought he only had washable markers so I let him continue as he made a colorful display on his hands and arms and face while I cooked. Unfortunately the only marker that he had that wasn't "washable" was the BLUE one. Hmmm. At least it wasn't permanent. Just a regular crayola. All it took was a good scrubbing to lighten it up and about 12 more hours and a soak in the bath to remove the rest.

Drew's favorite new toy/pastime is playing with trains. He loves to have someone set up the tracks for him...over, and over and over as he plays.

Drew often requests that Glenn sit down in a particular place and wait while he runs to grab a book to have read to him. Tonight that spot was the corner in the kitchen. Ian wanted to join in and Drew reluctantly let him after his "E, go. Pease moov," requests were foiled.
(E is what Drew calls Ian. It's so cute.)
So now you're up to date. I'll try to keep up better in March.
